Brice Joseph Bernard, 76, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Monday, August 27, 2007, at 10:30 a.m.


He is survived by his wife, Rita Hebert Bernard; four sons, Michael Anthony Bernard, Barry Paul Bernard, Timothy James Bernard, and Randal John Bernard; one daughter, Nadine Ann Bernard; 10 grandchildren, Lindsey Bernard, Joseph Bernard, Jamie Bernard, Erin Bernard, Bethany Bernard, Lauren Bernard, Sarah Bernard, Spencer Bernard, Brett Bernard and Matthew Bernard; and his special friends, Walter and Sylvia Lemoine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonce J. Bernard and Clarabelle Hotard Bernard.


Brice was the retired owner of Bernard’s Bar and a U.S. Air Force veteran 2nd lieutenant. He was a member of East Park Volunteer Fire Department, founder of Duck’s Unlimited of Terrebonne Parish and graduated from Terrebonne High School and Southeastern University. He loved to hunt and fish.

Visitation is Wednesday, August 29, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Thursday, August 30, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at Chauvin Funeral Home. He will be buried in Magnolia Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Tulane University Medical Center or St. Jude Hospital.

Chauvin Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
