Carl Fredrick Bassham, 86, a native of Huddy, Ky., and resident of Houma, La., died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011.
Mr. Bassham was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and a member of the VFW and the Masonic Lodge. He was an award winning bridge player and an avid fan of the Saints and University of Kentucky basketball. He loved life and loved being around family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Duple Bassham; son, John (Michelle) Bassham; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Olivia Bassham; daughter, Linda Webb; brother, James Bassham; and sister, Hazel Hawthorne.
Visitation will be 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Chauvin Funeral Home with services to follow. (Chauvin)
