Carrie Mae Ballard, 58, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Friday, Jan. 28, 2011.
Mrs. Ballard was a caregiver.
She is survived by her son, Melvin Jr. (Brenda) Ballard; daughters, Tanya (Clifford) Harris, Tameeka (Lionel) Tillman, Monique (Jeffery) Williams and Taraneika Ballard; mother and stepfather, Rose and Edward Fletcher; father and stepmother, Willie and Margaret Harris; brothers, Carl (Mary), Vernell (Debra) and Rev. Kevin (Theresa) Fletcher; sister, Elder Cynthia Fletcher; stepsister, Edwina Robertson; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Ballard Sr.; and her adopted parents, Charlie and Jane Winslow.
She is buried at Halfway Cemetery in Gray. (Williams and Southall)
