Charles Wayne Blanchard, 74, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010.

Mr. Blanchard was the owner of Dixie Sandblasting and Coating. He served in the Army during peacetime where he was stationed in Japan.


He is survived by his wife, Myra Duplantis Blanchard; daughter, Charla (Dale) Chatagnier; son, Wayne (Tabatha) Blanchard; seven grandchildren, Christina, Eric and Blake Chatagnier, and Jordan, Morgan, Katie and Joshua Blanchard; one great-grandson, Braxton Blanchard; brother, F.E. Blanchard Jr.; and sisters, Mary Robinson, Delores “Jean” Pitre, Diane Westfall and Doris Arcenaux.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Fermand J. and Vera Modine Batemon Blanchard.

He is buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 614 Barrow Street, Houma, Louisiana, 70360.
