Charles Edward Shoemaker Jr., 89, a native of Port Barre, La., and resident of Franklin, La., died Friday, May 4, 2012.
Mr. Shoemaker was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II as an aviation machinist’s mate first mate and tail gunner. He was a 32nd Degree past Master Mason of the Franklin Masonic Lodge 57.
He is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Richard) Allen; son, Dwight Shoemaker; sisters, Hertha Barrilleaux and Betty Cook; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Shoemaker III; and parents, Charles Sr. and Grace Shoemaker. (Ibert’s)
