Charles Franklin, 89, a native of Belle Rose, La., and a resident of Klotzville, La., died at Assumption Community Hospital, Tuesday, June 3.
He is survived by his sons, Charles Franklin and wife, Sandra, of Marrero, La., Carl Franklin and wife, Iva, of Belle Rose, and Ulysses Franklin and wife, Althea, of Donaldsonville, La.; daughter, Era Williams of LaPlace, La.; brothers, George Pearley of San Diego, Ca. and Ointon P. Landry of Belle Rose; sisters, Albertha Holly of Napoleonville, La., Marie Robins and Elizabeth Chavis; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Franklin; his parents, Camille and Rachel Franklin; daughters, Louella Solomon and Carolyn Franklin; brothers, Haywood and Camille Franklin Jr. and James Peraley Sr.; and sisters, Mildred Labat and Ella Mae Anderson.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was buried at First Israel Baptist Church Cemetery in Belle Rose.
Williams and Southall Funeral Home of Napoleonville is in charge of the arrangements.
