Cherrise Deneen Cooks, 46, a native and resident of Labadieville, La., died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011.


Ms. Cooks was Baptist.


She is survived by her daughter, Marita Cooks; sons, Johnathan, George and Jordan Cooks; stepfather, Donald Amos Sr.; sister, Monice (Edward) Tannis; and brother, Donald (Ferlisha) Amos Jr.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Matilda Amos; father, Elijah Cooks; brother, Elijah Cooks Jr.; and sister, Trinette Boatner.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at St. John Baptist Church in Napoleonville, La., with services to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Kennedy)
