Christian I. “Chris” Burdwell Sr., 81, a native of Jena, La., and resident of Lockport, La., died at 3:02 a.m. Saturday, June 21.
He is survived by two daughters, Patsy Autin and Corinne Legendre; one brother, Clarence Burdwell; two sisters, Christine Seymore and Elizabeth Prichard; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Detillier Burdwell; his parents, George and Rosie Sisium Burdwell; one son, Christian I. Burdwell Jr.; four brothers, Clyde, Calvin, Curtis and Sidney Burdwell; and two granddaughters.
He was a retired bridge tender and a Korean War veteran with the U.S. Army. He was Catholic.
He was buried at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church Cemetery.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
