Clara Conn

Clara Dovy Olivier Conn, 81, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010.

She was a graduate of Church Point High School and Spencer Business College. She was a former reigning Beauty Queen of Church Point and Rayne. She spent the last 56 years following her husband through many cities throughout the Gulf Coast Region, as he pursued his career in the oil-and-gas industry. She spent 30 years living in the New Orleans area and settled in Lafayette in 2005. Mrs. Conn was a member of many Catholic Parishes throughout her travels and finally an active member of Saint Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette, La.

She is survived by her sons, Clarence Jr. (Claire) and Robert Conn; four grandchildren, Austin and Colin Conn, and Elizabeth LaRosa and Paul LaRosa III; sisters, Urusla Stout and Ann Estilette; one nephew, Mike Estilette; three nieces, Linda Daigle, Lisa Estilette and Marla Holbert; and a host of cousins and friends throughout Louisiana and Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Wiley Conn Sr.; and her parents, Florent and Anna Leger Olivier.

The family would like to thank Dr. Fortune Dugan, Dr. Edward Lyons, and Dr. Aaron Friedman for their care and treatment. Also, to Hospice of Acadiana for their service and compassion during the last days of her life and to Helen Mouton for the years of service and devotion to both of our parents. And finally, sincere appreciation to Linda Daigle, who was more than a godchild, niece, caregiver, and loved one, who gave more than anyone to the well being for both Mom and Dad and whom they loved as if she were their daughter.

Clara Dovy Olivier Conn truly touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew her.
