Clark Joseph Porche, 69, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Bayou Blue, La., died at 3:10 a.m. Sunday, August 19, 2007, at Terrebonne General Medical Center from complications of an accident that occurred on Saturday, August 11, 2007.


He is survived by his wife, Shirley McKaughan Porche; one son, Timothy Porche; two daughters, Becky Sutton and her husband, Jeff, and Ginger Rouse and her husband Clay; two brothers, Larry Porche and Curtis “Kip” Porche; one sister, Joy Poole; and two grandchildren, Brittney and C.J. Rouse.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Elmira Darcey Porche.


Clark was a devout Christian and a member of First Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Terrebonne High School in 1957. He served in the National Guard and received an honorable discharge in 1962. He retired from Texaco after a very successful career that expanded more than 36 years. He will be remembered as a husband, father, grandfather, farmer, fisherman and a friend.

Visitation is Tuesday, August 21, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home and Wednesday, August 22, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral at First Presbyterian Church in Bayou Blue. He will be buried in Daigle Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Bayou Blue.

Chauvin Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
