Claude Joseph Fanguy Sr., 79, a native and resident of Chauvin, La., died at 7:05 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2010.
Mr. Fanguy was a retired school bus driver for Terrebonne Parish Schools. He was also a former employee of Svoboda Distributing Co. He enjoyed farming and his farm tractors.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Pamela “Pam” Babin; son, Claude (Katherine “Kate”) Fanguy Jr.; daughters, Susan Theriot and Peggy (Verges) Marcel; brothers, Willard (Anaise) Fanguy and Emile Fanguy; five grandchildren, Deanna (Shane) Sevin, Dedi (Everette Pinell) Theriot, Shanna (Aljean Jr.) Ledet, Dustin Lirette and Heather (James) Adams; four great-grandchildren, Della Sevin, Amanda Picou, Chantelle Picou and Lindsey Ledet; and one great-great-grandchild, Joshua Vizier.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Della Thibodeaux Fanguy; parents, Edgar Sr. and Amanda Naquin Fanguy; six brothers, Guy, Allen, Lloyd, Edward Sr., Edgar Jr. and Slydell Fanguy; five sisters, Annie Voisin, Lena Cancienne, Edna Thibodeaux, Ella Bourg and Thelma Henry; and two son-in-laws, Dean “Dino” Theriot and Robert Lirette.
Pallbearers are Shane Sevin, Everette Pinell, James Adams, Claude Fanguy Jr., Virges Marcel, Dustin Lirette and Herbert Fanguy.
He is buried at St. Joseph Cemetery.
