Downed economy, cold makes hard job tougher

January 15, 2010Claude J. Chauvin, 83, a native of Chauvin, La., and a resident of Montegut, La., died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010 at 7:10 a.m.
He is survived by his brother, Charlie P. Chauvin; sisters, Sue Chauvin and Beryl (Jerry) Gros; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Olga Sevin Chauvin; infant sister, Ursula Chauvin; and brother, Curman Chauvin.
He will be remembered for his great generosity to his family in his younger days and lifelong love for music.
He is buried at St. Eli Cemetery in Upper Little Caillou.
