Clayton Rushing Carlton, 78, a native of Crockett, Texas, a former resident of Luling, La., and a resident of Larose, La., died Tuesday, Sept. 15.


He is survived by his wife, Raily Naquin Carlton; six stepsons, Jerry, Dean, Craig and Lance Orgeron, and Kenny and Robert Mathews; one daughter, Carolyn Mayeaux; five stepdaughters, Maxine Guidry, Donna Adams, Tina Williams, Linda Becnel and Cheryl Fournet; one brother, Ray Carlton; two sisters, Nell Carlton and Cindy Engel; 24 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his first wife, Glenda Bailey Carlton; parents, Snide and Reba Gates Carlton; and one grandchild.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of We Care Bear Club and CFMA.

Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Luling with mass to follow. Burial will be at St. Charles Cemetery.

Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
