Clifford “Gob” Douglas, 90, a native and resident of Terrebonne Parish, La., died at Terrebonne General Medical Center, Thursday, September 11.


He is survived by two daughters, Verna Douglas of Gray, La., and Doris Williams and


companion Joseph Castle of Houma, La.; five grandsons, Craig and Delloid Douglas,

Jerome Parker, Sean Williams and Elder Phillip Ruffin all of Houma; six granddaughters, Jackie Gilton of Gray, Roslyn Harvey, Montez Garner, Freda Pharr, Sonya Sims and Dawn Douglas all of Houma; 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Willie Mae Douglas; one god child, Beatrice Wallace; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Eloie and Amelia Douglas; his first wife, Ethel Smith Douglas; his second wife, Doretha Williams Douglas; one son, Bernie Douglas; one stepdaughter, Emilie Lee; three brothers, Freddie, Gilbert and Cleveland Douglas; five sisters, Olivia “Sis” Davis, Virginia Theriot, Leola “Bay” Douglas, Victoria “Lillie” Wilkerson and Merceded Douglas; and one great-grandson, Kenneth Garner.

He was a retired butcher for more than 50 years.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, at New Rising Sun Baptist

Church in Houma with a religious service to follow. He will be buried at the church cemetery.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home of Thibodaux, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
