Clifton Alexander Bourgeois Sr., 90, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010.


Mr. Bourgeois was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served World War II.


He is survived by his sons, Clifton Jr. and Mark Bourgeois; daughters, Mary (Drew) Clement and Sara (Matt) Daigle; sister, Marian Charitat; and six grandchildren, Mary Clement, Tricia (Chase) Petrella, Matthew Clement, and Alexis, Jacques and Victoria Bourgeois.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances “Mamie” Beary Bourgeois; one son, John Van Bourgeois; parents, Zenon Leon and Henrietta Leonard Bourgeois; two brothers, Thierry and Zenon Jr. Bourgeois; and two sisters, Loretta Stagg and Roma Begue.


He is buried at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral Cemetery.

A special thanks to all the staff at Journey Hospice and for his special caregivers, James Bergeron, Delores Francis and Charlotte Renfro. Also, thanks to his wonderful nurses, Grace Gauthrie and Felecia Johnson.
