Constance “Connie” Danner Killion, 87, a resident of Midland, Texas, and formerly of Houma, La., where she raised her children, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009.


Mrs. Killion was an active member of First Baptist Church when she lived in Houma. An avid reader and lifelong learner, she was a prolific and published writer.

She is survived by her daughters, Anne Chandler, Peggy (Jack) Killion and Cheryl Richie; sons, Mark (Karen) and Stephen (Peggy) Killion; nine grandchildren, Micah (Beth), Moriah and Sarah Richie, Connie (Wade) Claybrook, Catey (Jim) Slusher, David Meek, Amy (Ben) Farrar, Michelle (Rodney) Bergeron and Johnny (Danielle) Haslitt; 12 great-grandchildren, Zachary and Cali Claybrook, Jarrett and Micaiah Richie, Camryn, Tyler and Rylie Slusher, Liberty and David “Hank” Meek Jr., Ryan and Emma Bergeron and Kaylen Farrar.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, H.W. “Hank” Killion; brothers, Ernest and Max; sister, Virginia; mother, Pearl Mallard Danner (Ernest) McLean.
