Courtland Martin Jackson, 87, a native and resident of Thibodaux, LA., died Monday, February 26, 2007.


Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at St. Luke Catholic Church in Thibodaux. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Allen Chapel AME Church Cemetery.

He is survived by one daughter, Sharon Saulsberry and husband, Gerald of Thibodaux; two brothers, Sylvester Jackson and wife, Delores, and Bernard Jackson of Thibodaux; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Courtland and Mary Jackson; one son, Harvey Deboue; five sisters, Catherine Jackson, Evelyn Jules, Eunice Anderson, Wiletta Thibodaux and Myrtle Frye; and two brothers, Louis Jackson and Clarence Jackson.

He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran and was awarded the WW II Victory medal and the Good Conduct medal during his time of service.

He was Catholic.
