Cynthia C. “Taz” Loupe, 61, a native of Lockport, La., and a resident of Vacherie, La., died Sunday, July 19, at 10 a.m.


She is survived by her husband, Sidney Loupe Jr.; mother, Eve Marie Loupe Chauvin; one son, Jason Loupe; three daughters, Carol Labat and husband Andrew Labat, Robin Molaison and husband Paul, and Anita Soley and husband Anthony “Tony”; two brothers, Curtis Chauvin and Duane Chauvin; one sister, Glendora “Doe” Chauvin; and seven grandchildren, Garrett and Chelsea Labat, Paul Molaison Jr., Sean, Marissa and Justing Loupe, and Kalli Soley.


She was preceded in death by her father, Ursin Joseph Chauvin; two brothers, Terry Chauvin and Rodney Chauvin; and one sister, Kitty Chauvin.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Cavherie. She was employed by WalMart for 24 years. She was an avid gardener and reader and enjoyed poetry.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Raceland, La. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. at the church with burial at Holy Savior Catholic Church Cemetery.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
