Daisy Chauvin Clouatre, 79, a native of Convent, La., and longtime resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, Jan. 17, 2011 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Mrs. Clouatre found beauty and joy in all of life, her children, grandchildren and her animals were her greatest love.


She is survived by her sons, Gerald (Anne) and Ralph (Sheila) Clouatre; daughter, Nancy (Dr. Duane) Luke; five grandchildren, Erica Trochesset, Cynthia and Brad Clouatre, Dustin Lambert and Ashlie Pellegrin; 11 great-grandchildren, Derek Fritz, Nicholas Trochesset, Bethany, Shawn and Samantha Blount, Krista Whitney, Brayden, Jace and Drew Clouatre, Blake Lambert, and Adrienne Terry; brothers, William Jr. and Gary Chauvin; and sisters, Bernice Canatella and Doris Brignac.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew “Junior” Clouatre Jr.; one son, Paul Clouatre; her parents, William and Gussie Bourque Chauvin; her stepmother, Maggie Chauvin; two brothers, Wilbert “Brother” and Alfred Chauvin; and one sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Chauvin.

He is buried at St. Joseph Cemetery.

The pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
