Daniel Martin Ardin Bruce Sr., 67, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and resident of Galliano, La., died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012.
Mr. Bruce was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed his family to the fullest. He was a commercial fisherman who worked hard all his life to provide for his family. He loved to hunt and fish and will be remembered as a man who knew no stranger and always put a smile on your face.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Bruce; sons, Daniel Jr. (Brandy) and Paul Bruce; daughters, Donna (Norah) Cheramie and Paula Bruce; brothers, Bobby, Douglas and Bryan Bruce; sisters, Geraldine Esponge, Janice Semmes, Peggy Borne, Carolyn Bourgeois and Shena Delatte; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Sr. and Meona Bruce; and brothers, Larry, Carl, Wayne and Lester Jr. Bruce.
Visitation will be 9 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano with services to follow at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano. Burial will be at Cheramie Cemetery. (Falgout)
