Deloris Spencer Veals, 61, a resident of Terrebonne Parish, died Thursday, January 17, 2008.
She is survived by her husband, George Veals, Sr.; sons, George Veals, Jr. and Jerome Veals; daughters, Lanette Brown and Alea Veals; sister, Betty Harris; 20 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Margie Mae Harris; step father, Benjamin McGee; brother, Joseph Harris; maternal grandparents, Rosetta Coleman Spencer and Fred Giddeon; and paternal grandparents, Phyllis Rosie and Sam Harris.
Deloris was a member of Howard Third Zion Travelers Baptist Church where she served on the deaconess board, pastor aide committee and homecoming committee. She enjoyed cooking shopping, reading and attending church. She was a retired nurse at Terrebonne General Medical Center.
Visitation is 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2008 at Howard Third Zion Travelers Baptist Church. Funeral Services are at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2008, at Howard Third Zion Travelers Baptist Church. She will be buried at Crozier Cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
