Demitry “Meechie” Robinson, 7, a resident of Raceland, La. died at 8:56 a.m. Tuesday December 4, 2007, at 8:56 a.m.


He is survived by his parents, Renard “Rob” and Danielle “Dani” Harris Robinson; three younger brothers, Ahren, Cullen, and Simeon; his grandparents, Danny “Joe” and Brenda Harris and Shirley McCamey; one uncle, Clarence “Scooter” Harris and his wife Sondra; two aunt Tammy Harris and Heather Boudreaux; cousin, Brianne, Joseph, Christopher, Germaine, Jonathan, and Sheila Harris.

The prayers for a complete healing were answered as Meechie walked hand in hand into heaven with Jesus. He has stoically fought an honorable fight with a nasty form of pediatric brain cancer for the last 40 months.


Demitry was a student at Raceland Lower Elementary School.

Visitation is Saturday, December 8, 2007, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at First Baptist Church of Houma. He will be buried in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray, La.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Angel’s Place of New Orleans; St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital; The Oncology unit of Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, Curesearch.org; or any organization searching for a cure in pediatric brain cancers.
