Derrick Lee Boveland, 30, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Wednesday, August 13.


He is survived by his wife, Christy Boveland of Thibodaux; parents, Anita Adams and Stanley Ellis of Thibodaux; stepfather, Brian Watkins of Thibodaux; one daughter, Quiana Neal of Thibodaux; two sons, Stephan Neal of Thibodaux and Kahron Stewart of Houma, La.; five sisters, Melissa Boveland, Renada Tolbert, Laquite Edmonds, Sharneisha Pharagood and Lynette Ellis all of Thibodaux; five brothers, Courtney Adams and wife Dalenea, Edmond Boveland and wife, Sueera, Lance Harold and Leonard Ellis of Thibodaux and Mark Truehill Sr. of Labadieville, La.; and grandparents, Shirley Adams and Alice Holmes both of Thibodaux.


He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Emma Jones and Corrine Holmes.

He was Methodist.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, August 23, at Calvary United Methodist Church in Thibodaux with a religious service to follow. He will be buried at the church cemetery.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
