April 8, 2010Dolores Antoinette Dardar, 72, recognized by many as “Granny,” a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Golden Meadow, La., died on Monday, March 29, 2010.
A citizen of the United Houma Nation, Mrs. Dardar dedicated many years of her life to her tribe and has been a fixture at the Tribal Center for over 30 years.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years Whitney Dardar; children, Brenda Dardar (Dr. Mike) Robichaux and Samantha (Derek) Doucet; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.
She is buried at Dardar Cemetery.
