Donald J. Carter Sr., 54, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010.
He is survived by his sons, Rico (Katoya) and Donald Carter Jr.; daughter, Latrell (Kelby) Green; sisters, Francis (Paul) Brisco and Elnora Carter and Dianne (Edward) Woods; brothers, Edward (Levita), Samuel (Glenda), Robert, Roger and Patricia Carter; nine grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Learnese and Bennie Carter Sr.; and brother, Bennie Carter Sr.
He was Baptist, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of American Legion Post#513. He was a former employee of Otis Offshore Services.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Moses Baptist Church in Thibodaux with a religious service to follow. Burial will be with military honors at the church cemetery.
