Donald Joseph Cooks, 49, a native of Thibodaux, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, December 3.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Foster; daughter, Ariel Cooks; brothers, Ernest Cooks, Jr., Lloyd Cooks and Henry Cooks; and sisters, Mercedes Cooks, LeeAnna Brown, Gail Kenny and Gilda McGuire.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Cooks, Sr. and Myrtle Jefferson Cooks; sister, Jannie Mae Cooks; and grandparents, Henry Cooks, Lee Anna Cooks, Leonard Jefferson and Jannie Clark.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a chef with Coastal Catering Company. He was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church.
Visitation will be on 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, Community Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, at Morning Star Baptist Church in Thibodaux with burial at Morning Star Cemetery # 2.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
