Donna Lynn Hopkins Couvillier, 65, a native of Urania, and resident of Bayou Vista, La., died after a battle with cancer on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010.

In her early days, Mrs. Couvillier enjoyed bowling and traveling and was later dubbed the “Family Consultant,” because she had phone numbers and addresses on virtually every family member.


She is survived by her son, Michael Wayne (Robin) Grow of Acworth, Ga.; one granddaughter, Neacy (Drew) Fullmer; one great-granddaughter, Misty Elizabeth Daigle, all of Columbus, Ga.; sister, Lula Guzzino of Patterson; sister-in-law, Nell Hopkins of Charenton; brother-in-law, Ozeme “Red” (Pam) Couvillier Jr. of Patterson; nieces, Gina (Jon) Crooks of Rockville, Ind., Vickie (Steve) Guarisco of Mandeville, Angel (Carl) Dugas of Madisonville, Christi (Carl) Armato of Charlotte, N.C., Diane (Stan) Atnipp of Midland, Texas, Michelle (Tracy Chessher) McElroy of Odessa, Texas, Kim (Herman) Smith of Franklin, Jeri (Billy) St. Blanc of Charenton; nephews, Harold Coates of Texas, Brian (Melissa) Hebert of Denham Springs, Comile (Lindsey) Couvillier of Patterson, and Robert (Christie) Burns of Zachary; 12 grandnieces; 16 grandnephews and great-grandnieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Couvillier; parents, Thomas “Red” and Geneva “Billie” (Bonner) Hopkins; sister, Billie “Sis” Hebert; brother, Huey Allen Hopkins; nephew, Douglas “Doug” Allen Hopkins; and granddaughter, Misty Nicole Daigle.
