Houma man found guilty of wife’s ‘04 storage box murder

Doris Antoinette Duplantis Colwart, 92, a native and resident of Houma, LA., died at 9:20 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2007.


Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m., Monday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.


She is survived by three daughters, Genevieve Faucheaux, Mary Lee Trahan and husband, Randall, and Diana Edwards of Houma; one brother, V.J. Duplantis of Houma; one sister, Jennie Bergeron of Houma, 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Colwart; her parents, Valmore J. Duplantis and Cora Babin Duplantis; three brothers, Ivy Duplantis, Abbie Duplantis and Sidney Duplantis; and three sisters, Agnes Hebert, Marie Matherne and Lou Leonard.

She was a homemaker and parishioner at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.

Chauvin Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
