Doris Mae Gisclair Walker, 83, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and a resident of Cut Off, La., died at 10 a.m. Sunday, September 21.


She is survived by one son, James “Pat” Walker Sr.; one daughter, Mary Carrell; one brother, Roy Joseph Gisclair; one sister, Annie Wiggins; three grandchildren, James Walker Jr., Heather Cantrelle and Matthew Carrell; and two great-grandchildren, Dawson Carrell and Alexia Carrell.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin “Old Folks” Walker; her parents, Isaac Paul and Euphemie Bouziga Gisclair; two sons, Carl Walker and Johnny Marvin Walker; and one sister, Ruby Marie Guidry.

She was an avid cook and loved sewing and gardening. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She was buried at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Galliano, La.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
