Earl Paul King Sr., 91, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013.


Mr. King was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was the co-owner of King Trucking and served a term on the state mineral board. He was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church.


He is survived by his wife, Eunice King; sons, Earl Jr. (Linda) and Joel (Heidi) King; stepdaughters, Charlotte (Glyn) Clampitt, Janet (Speedy) Moore and Peggy (Duane) Guidry; brother, Gordon King; sister, Mattie Smith; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Hoffman and Nettie King; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, and 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Chauvin Funeral Home with services to follow. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery. (Chauvin)
