Earline Mary Matherne Estay, 74, a native of Bayou Gauche, La., and resident of Larose, La., died Wednesday, April 20, 2011.


Mrs. Estay’s hobbies were sewing, quilting, crocheting and spending time with family and friends.


She is survived by her companion, Horace “Pete” Adams; sons, Jerry, Jessie (Lorry), Gary “Snap,” Danny, Billy and Timmy Estay; five grandsons, Jhovan, Shannon, Edward, Justin Estay and Ramsey Griffin; daughter, Deborah Estay; three granddaughters, Mary Rebecca Roberts, Jessica Estay and Taryn Terrebonne; two great-granddaughters, Jena Estay and Madison Bouchard; brothers, Nelson, Wesley and Anthony Matherne; stepchildren, Gerard (Tammy) and Priscilla Adams and Justine (Kevin) Fringers; sisters, Ruth Matherne and Madeline Ockman; seven great-grandsons, London and Aaron Estay, Anthony and Wyatt Weaver, and Broddie, Corey and Jeremy Rogers; and 12 step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Napoleon Estay; parents, Tony and Flossie Plaisance Matherne; one grandson, London Estay; and two brothers, Mack and Wilson Matherne.

She is buried at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery. (Samart-Mothe)
