Edith Duplantis Eschete, 95, a native of Chacahoula, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, June 18, at 10:25 p.m.
She is survived by her sons, Wilbert “Bill” Eschete Jr. and wife Ann of Houma, and Ronald Patrick Eschete and wife Carol of Nowalk, Calif.; daughter, Edith Mary Bourg and husband Eugene Bourg of Houma; brothers, Patrick “Pat” Duplantis, Thaddeus “Bud” Duplantis and Camille Duplantis all of Houma; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Eschete Sr.; parents, Josephine LeBlanc Duplantis and Gilbert Duplantis; brothers, Gable Duplantis and Luke Duplantis; sister, Lydie Harris; daughter-in-law, Betty Sheffield Eschete; and great-granddaughter, Eva Lynn Eschete.
She was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales. She was a homemaker.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday, June 22, at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis #2 Cemetery.
