Edward “Rock” Rickerson Jr., 66, a native of Vacherie, La. and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at New Morning Star Baptist Church in Labadieville, La. Religious service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.


He is survived by his wife, Velma Henderson Rickerson of Thibodaux; seven sons, Rendell Rickerson Sr. and Trendle Rickerson of Gray, La., Edward Vergin and Henry Vergin of Houma, Kevin Barrow, Edison Jr. and Malcolm Baker of Thibodaux; three daughters, Janice Neville Antoine of Houma, Suzanne Baker of Thibodaux and Donna Baker of Lake Charles, La.; three brothers, Russell Rickerson Sr., Carl Rickerson, and wife, Norma, of Gray and Sylvester Grant of Bridge City; three sisters, Florence Prevost and Julie Crowell of Franklin and Elaine Mitchell of Atlanta, Georgia; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Rickerson Sr. and Clarie Nash Adams; and one brother, Chester Adams.

He was Baptist.
