Elda “Taunt Noot” Cheramie Martin, 100, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and resident of Galliano, La., died Sunday, March 20, 2011.
Mrs. Martin enjoyed cooking and caring for her home and family and enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Altar Society.
She is survived by her son, Andrew Martin; four grandchildren, Rhonda Comeaux, Andy Martin, Andrea Danos and Ace Martin; two step-grandchildren, Brook and Kline Danos; four great-grandchildren, Ernie and Lauren Richoux, and Taylor and Andi Martin; two step-great-grandchildren, Chole’ and Christian Richoux; and one brother, Louman “Toupee” Cheramie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Abdon W. Martin; parents, Theodore and Julia Williams Cheramie; six brothers, Peter, Richard, Levy, Ecton, Waldo and Ellis; and five sisters, Pauline, Ezona, Bertha, Gosta and Angeline.
She is buried at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery. (Falgout)
