Eldred Francis “Burnt Leg” Ellender, 90, a native and resident of Bourg, La., died at 7:43 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011.


Mr. Ellender loved spending time with his family and friends as well as hunting and fishing. He was the owner of Amoco Service Station and a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church.


He is survived by his companion, Aveline Theriot; daughters, Karin (Russell) Boquet and Sheila (Glenn Sr.) Matherne; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, MayBelle Ellender; parents, Lee and Aglae’ Ellender; brothers, Edward, Albert, Lee, Ralph and Wilfred Ellender; and sisters, Hazel Williams, Leona LeBouef and Marjorie and Thelma DeDeaux.

Burial was at St. Ann Catholic Church Cemetery. (Chauvin)
