Elise (Calise) Rodrigue Benoit, 92, passed away at her home in Chackbay, La., Wednesday, July 23, at 11:00 a.m.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, Royal (Roy) Benoit; one son, Floyd Benoit Sr. and wife Barbara Chamberlain Benoit; one daughter, Judy Benoit Guidry and husband Earl Guidry; brothers and sisters, Hulda (Cadda) R. Martin, Leopold Rodrigue, Sister Denis (Therese) Rodrigue, Anthony Rodrigue, Jean Denis Rodrigue and Peter Stephen Rodrigue; grandchildren, Susan G. Delatte, Floyd Benoit Jr., Donna G. Thibodaux, Marlene B. Domingue, Sharon B. Dugas and Kenneth Guidry; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Denis Rodrigue and Elma Marse Rodrigue; brothers, Zenon Rodrigue, Edmond Rodrigue, Cecil (Benny) Rodrigue and Harold Rodrigue; and sister, Myrthee R. Granier.
She was a devoted Catholic and a member for 70 years of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church Altar Society. She loved cooking for her family and friends. A special thanks to all medical staff, hospice, relatives, friends and church volunteers who helped during her illness. Everyone is invited to her visitation and services.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Chackbay with the funeral mass to follow. She will be buried at Chackbay Cemetery.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
