May 25, 2011Ellis C. Martin Sr., 80, a native of Magnolia, Miss., and resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, May 7, 2011.
Mr. Martin was Baptist, a retired laborer and service station attendant.
He is survived by his sons, Daniel (Susan) and Joe Sr. (Sherry) Martin; daughters, Gladys (Joseph) Simmons, Alice (Clarence) Taylor, Joyce M.B. Robinson, Emma Jean Martin and Zellie Wallis; brother, Teddy Martin; sister, Dorothy Martin; 36 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Adele Martin; parents, Dewey Martin and Annie Jackson Martin Williams; one son, Ellis Charles Martin Jr.; and four brothers, A.J., Willie, Lucious and McKinley Martin. (Gertrude Geddes Willis-Terrebonne)
