December 31, 2009Elma Marie Hidalgo Barras, 87, a native of Franklin, La., and a resident of Morgan City, La., died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, in Morgan City.
She is survived by her son, Edgar (Rita) Barras Jr.; and sister, Bessie Mayon; six grandchildren, Tammy Templet, Ken Barras, Dane Barras, Amanda Guillot, Ryan Barras and Shane Barras; and six great-grandchildren, Cassie, Michelane, Luke, Taylor, Alen and Alex.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Barras Sr.; son, Sidney Barras; parents, Caliste and Zulama Hidalgo; brothers, Earl, Leo and Roy Hidalgo; and sister, Dorothy Pusateri.
Mrs. Barris is buried at Morgan City Cemetery.
