Elodie Blanco McCrary, 85, a native of Belle River, La., and a resident of Morgan City, La., passed away Sunday, Sept. 20, at the Patterson Health Care Unit.

Elodie is survived by her daughter, Angela McCrary and fiance’ Scott Fisher of Morgan City; one brother Tarlton Blanco and wife Verna of Morgan City; one sister, Enola Aucoin of Morgan City; and one sister-in-law, Mona Blanco of Morgan City.


Elodie was preceded in death by her husband, Earl A. McCrary; parents Joseph and Felice Blanco; three brothers, Adam, Sidney and Dudley Blanco; and two sisters, Noemie Duggin and Norma Barrilleaux.

Elodie loved to clean, put puzzles together, read, garden and she especially enjoyed her dog “Peanut”. Elodie also was a devout Catholic, a loving and caring mother, and let’s not forget a fan of the Saints.

Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Holy Cross Church with burial at Morgan City Cemetery.

Twin City Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
