Elton Gautreaux, Sr.

Elton Joseph Gautreaux, Sr., 80 a native of Houma, La. and resident of Chauvin, La. died Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at 1:45 p.m.

He is survived by his wife Irene Price Gautreaux; two sons, Lawrence Gautreaux and Patrick Gautreaux and his wife Rebecca; four daughters, Brenda Rogers and her husband Spike, Jane Cadiere, Trudy Smith, and Geneva Chisum and her husband Mike; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Roselie Trahan Gautreaux, Sr.; one son, Elton Gautreaux, Jr.; one son-in-law, Danny Cadiere; four brothers, Easton, Neaston, Lawrence, and Houston Gautreaux; and four sisters, Rita Bourg, Edna Gautreaux, Veola Lapeyrouse, and Eleola Bergeron.

Visitation is Thursday, November 29, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at Samart Funeral Home in Houma. His body will be cremated.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
