Elvida Cheramie Duet, 86, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, La., died Thursday, September 11, at 5:25 a.m.

She is survived by her sons, Robert and Bryan Duet; brother, Noles Cheramie; sister, Selvida Plaisance; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Duet; parents, Eusebe and Theresa Eymard Cheramie; son, Carl Duet; and brothers, Sylvest, Orleans, Bienvenue and Linsey Cheramie.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and belonged to the Ladies Altar Society.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, September 15, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off, La., with mass to follow. She will be buried at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Golden Meadow.
