Emanuel J. Fonseca, 75, a native of De Allemands, La., and resident of Larose, La., died Thursday, August 23, 2007, at 6:00 a.m.


He is survived by his wife, Shirley Orgeron Fonseca; two sons, Christopher and Francis Fonseca; two daughters, Lillian Rivero and Darlene Oubre; one step-son, Freddie Rodrigue; four step-daughters, Barbara Gisclair Orgeron, Debra Gisclair Perrin, Connie Rodrige Comerdelle, and Annette Rodrigue; two brothers, Jimmy and Roland Fonesca; one sister Florance Fonseca Arcement; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parent, Gillis and Esparence Matherne Fonseca; and two sons, Donald and Dwight Fonseca.

Emanuel was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a Eucharistic Minister. He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 83 of Lockport.

Visitation is Friday, August 24, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano and Saturday, August 25, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. until Noon, with the funeral to follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Larose. He will be buried in the church cemetery.

Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano is in charge of the arrangements.
