Emily Martin Babin, 93, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Friday, March 26, 2010.


Known as “Miss Mel” by friends and “Aunt Tee” by family, Mrs. Babin is remembered for her smile and witty conversation. She was a member of The Catholic Daughters of America and the Ladies Altar Society. She enjoyed yard work and her flowers.

She is survived by brother, Abraham “T-Brom” Martin; and nephew/caregivers, Cleveland and Eldon Breaux.

She is buried at St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church Cemetery in Raceland.
