October 3, 2011Ermalee Evelyn Sweet Babin, 85, a native of El Dorado, Ark., and resident of Houma, La., died at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011.
Mrs. Babin was a member of First Assembly of God Church. She was a LPN and retired from the Veteran’s Affairs. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Leland Babin; son, Walter (Kathleen) Staggs; daughters, Jane (Ray) Pennington, Sue (Ricky) Perry and Karry (Ronald) Babin; stepson, Randel Babin; stepdaughter, Robin Babin; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Carrie Sweet; son, Barry McCutcheon; daughter, Debra Reyes; brothers, Kenneth, Walter and Woodrow Sweet; and sisters, Allie Tolliver, Thelma Randolph and Lola McCutcheon.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at First Assembly of God Church. (Chauvin)
