Ernest Joseph Fanguy Sr., 91, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, La. died Friday, November 2, 2007, at 9:13 a.m.


He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Deroche Fanguy; four sons, Ernest Fanguy, Jr.; William Fanguy, James Fanguy, and Gary Fanguy; one brother, Francis Fanguy; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Feliciene and Leah Duplantis Fanguy; one son, Charles J. Fanguy; two brothers, Paul and Camille Fanguy; and three sisters, Lucy Giroir, Louise Cancienne, and Justine Duplantis.

Ernest was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was a self-employed car salesman and U.S. Army veteran.

He is buried in Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
