Essie Mae Arsan, 76, a native of Houma, La. and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Moses Baptist Church in Thibodaux. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Felix John Arsan III of Thibodaux; four daughters, Lydia Starks and husband, Donald, of Thibodaux, Dianne Arsan of New Orleans, La., Lila Arsan and Felicia Lee and husband, Hewitt Lee, of Thibodaux; two brothers, Wilbert J. Brown and Henry Brown of Thibodaux; four sisters, Daisy Adams of Gray, La., Emma Brown of Las Vegas, Nevada, Evelyn Williams of Shreveport, La. and Carrie Adams of Thibodaux; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Arsan Jr.; her parents, Elitha and Joseph Brown; and three brothers, Ivan, Jessie and Herbert Brown.
She was a member of Moses Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board.
