Etheld-reada “Deedie” Chauvin Chaisson, 95, a native and resident of Houma, LA., died at 9 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007.


Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in St. Louis Cemetery.

She is survived by one daughter, Jeanette “June” Porche; six grandchildren, Kim Porche, Eric and Mark Fangue, Stephanie F. Champagne, Brenda F. Tabor and Robin F. Eschete; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; and one stepson, Gerald Chaisson.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie Fangue; her second husband, Garret Chaisson; her parents, Cestive Chauvin and Zulma Duplantis Chauvin; one son, Stephen Fangue; three grandchildren, Herbert Porche Jr., Paula P. Lancaster and Garret Porche; eight sisters, Mrs. Constant (Aurelia) LeBoeuf, Mrs. Ruffin (Jennie) Butcher, Mrs. Ira (Effie) Pendarvis, Mrs. Lawrence (Lisa) Antill, Mrs. Clarence (Justine) Boullion, Mrs. Ernest (Ethel) Grow Sr., Mrs. William (Kate) Porche, and Mrs. William (Thelma) Pellegrin; five brothers, Adolph, Lee, Stephen and Goode Chauvin and Ruffin Butcher Jr.; and one stepson, Pete Chaisson.
