Eugene Anthony Trahan, 86, a native and resident of Houma, Louisiana, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015.

Mr. Trahan was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran and a member of the Chosen Few. He was a lifetime member of the Montegut Lions Club and the American Legion. He will be remembered as the man who glided across the dance floor during waltzes and cut a rug with the jitterbug.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Authement Trahan; son, Drukell (Theresa) Trahan; daughters, Deidre (Wayne) Holmes, Adele Weber and Danielle (Brent) Vauclin; sister, Shirley Millet; four grandchildren, Kristin and Kandice Kelley, Shelby Holmes and Tristen Pellegrin; and one great-grandchild, Madison Gonzales.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Antoine Trahan, Agnes and Willis Henry; sisters, Joyce Duhon and Dorothy Carlos; and brother, Carl Henry.

Visitation is set for 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family extends it thanks to Dr. Russell Henry, Terrebonne General Medical Center, The Suites at Sugar Mill Point and Bayou Home Care.
