Evelyn Scott Aldridge, 56, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006.


Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006 at Community Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church, with burial in St. Luke Baptist Church in Waterproof.


She is survived by her husband, Stanley Aldridge Jr.; one son, Shawn Michael Aldridge; one daughter, LaKisha Aldridge Reeves; seven brothers, Clarence Scott and wife, Paulette, Irvin Scott and wife, Mary Jane, Aurestile Scott and wife, Geraldine, Melvin Scott and wife, Judy, John Scott and wife, Elaine, Donald Scott and wife, Judy, and Michael Scott of Houma; four sisters, Lucille Sheperd, Helen Johnson, Roslie Stovall and husband, Donald, and Glenda Anderson and husband, LeAndre’; three grandchildren, Tyler Campanella, Santi Campeanella and Sean Aldridge; three godchildren, Erica Scott, Dana Robinson and Dominque Brown; her mother-in-law, Audrey Aldrige; and one aunt, Jeanetta Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Aurestile Scott Sr. and Pinkie Atkins Scott; her mother-in-law, Mercedes Douglas; one godchild, Pamela Swing; and her grandparents, Lucy Saulsberry Harris, James Bush Harris and Arthur Atkins

She was Baptist and a parishioner of Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church. She was a retired Dillards department store manager.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
