‘N-word’ put to rest in Terrebonne Parish

Felma Robichaux Arceneaux, 79, a native of Raceland, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Sunday, August 5, 2007 at 7:10 p.m.


She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Arceneaux Andras and her husband Michael, Dianne R. Arceneaux, and Mary A. Hebert and her husband N.J.; five grandchildren, Tilmon and Benjamin Griffin, Nicole Williams and Justin and Dylan Hebert; three great-grandchildren; three nieces; and numerous friends.


She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Nelson Arceneaux; her parents, Ferdinand Robichaux and Euna Bourgeois Robichaux; and two sisters, Hazel Robichaux Allemand and Una Mae Robichaux Fonseca.

Felma was an employee of the Lafourche Parish School Board for 12 years as a paraprofessional and her family and friends will dearly miss her. Felma touched the lives of many with her caring and generosity. She taught all that knew her about love and kindness. We will all miss her and the love she so generously offered.

Visitation is Wednesday, August 8, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Thibodaux. She will be buried in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Landry Funeral Home of Thibodaux is in charge of the arrangements.
